Enhanced Vehicle Effects 1.7.0 (0.39.x)
0 99 32

Standard vehicle effects in BeamNG often look unnatural, static, and divorced from the actual movement of the vehicle. The Enhanced Vehicle FX modification enhances tire smoke, dust clouds, flying debris and metal sparks, making each effect more natural depending on the actions of the vehicle.

This is purely a modification of the visual effects. It does not change the physics, handling, grip or characteristics of the car.

Configurable parameters
- Full settings menu integrated directly into the BeamNG user interface
- Changes are applied instantly
- Settings are saved automatically between game sessions
- Enables a button to reset all parameters to default values
Realistic smoke while drifting
- Visible smoke during light drifting and controlled sliding
- Gradually increasing smoke density during longer and more aggressive drifts
- The intensity of the smoke reacts to engine power, tire grip, slipping and wheel rotation speed
- Layered particles of the core and the outer cloud create a denser spatial image
- Smoke initially forms around the tire, and then expands outward and upward
- Prolonged drifts create larger, denser, and more durable smoke clouds
Smoke from wheel slip and braking
- Sliding of the driving wheels creates realistic tire smoke
- Idle and low-speed slips are fully supported
- The intensity of smoke increases with the speed of rotation of the wheels, available clutch and engine power
- Smoke from braking appears only when the wheel is actually locked.
- Cars equipped with ABS do not create unrealistic smoke from braking
- Cars without ABS can create smoke when braking hard enough Wheel lock
The interaction of smoke and vehicle air flow
- Gentle depth interaction prevents visible smoke cutting through the body
- Previously created smoke clouds react when a car passes through them
- The speed of the car creates a barely noticeable aerodynamic trail through the smoke
- The airflow disperses the smoke along the sides, roof and rear of the car
- The interaction force is automatically scaled depending on the speed of the car
Mud and off-road effects
- Completely redesigned dirt effects for specific surfaces
- Denser dust when driving fast off-road, wheels slipping and sliding
- The force of the effect reacts to the speed of the tires, contact with the surface and sliding
- Unique effects for mud, dusty mud, gravel, sand, sandy roads, grass and mud
- Aggressive off-road drifting creates wider and more energetic mud clouds
- Clouds of dirt interact with the air flow of the car when passing through them
Exhaust Effects
- Improved layered exhaust smoke with softer and denser shapes
- Cold exhaust steam naturally expands after exiting the exhaust pipe
- Exhaust smoke gradually dissipates, rather than disappearing instantly
- Using smoke to illuminate the stage for better integration with the environment
Effects of fire and reverse exhaust
- Redesigned car fire effect with smoother flame movement
- Different flame sizes for small, medium, large and fast-spreading fires
- Improved exhaust flame and reverse exhaust colors
- Separate flame elements of blue, orange, red and glowing colors
- Large fires generate dense, expanding black smoke
- Smoke from a fire can create an air trail when a car passes through it.
Radiator and coolant effects
- Improved steam from damaged radiators and cooling systems
- Separate layers of dense steam and lighter coolant mist
- The strength of the effect reacts to coolant leakage and temperature
- Steam naturally expands around the damaged area
- Steam from the radiator interacts with the aerodynamic footprint of the car
High-quality sparks
- Orange sparks from contact with the metal bottom
- Sparks when rubbing against barriers and other hard surfaces
- Collision sparks, depending on the force of impact and deformation
- The intensity of the sparks depends on the speed of friction and the force of the collision
- Performance limitations prevent excessive spark generation
Lighting and shadows
- Smoke, dust, dirt, steam and sparks react to the stage lighting
- Supported effects are influenced by sunlight and game shadows
- Soft particles blend more naturally into vehicles, roads, and surrounding objects
- The shadow response corresponds to the graphical settings of the player's BeamNG
Efficiency
- Designed for low, medium and high level computers
- Particle emission is limited to avoid unnecessary loss of productivity
- Effects are generated only when the necessary conditions for sliding, damage, or contact are met.
- Interaction with the air flow uses a limited number of short-term footprint zones
- Limiting simultaneous trace effects prevents particle jumps
- BeamNG particle quality settings continue to control the overall rendering load
Compatibility
- Automatically applies to all standard vehicles and most modified vehicles
- Works without an individual vehicle configuration
- No additional dependencies required
- Does not change the physics of vehicles, handling, engine power or tire grip
- May conflict with other mods replacing tire particle, dirt, fire, or collision BeamNG systems
