This level is a reconstruction of the eastern slope of the famous Montagle mountain pass on Interstate I-24 in Tennessee, USA. I allowed myself to make it a loop. The idea behind this map is to provide a long downhill slope where engine braking may be necessary, as well as a long uphill slope for heavy cargo. The checkpoint at the top has also been recreated. In real life, all commercial vehicles are required by law to stop at the traffic light at the top before descending the mountain. There is a distribution center with a skills training area where you can practice backing up with a trailer, as well as a simulator for making a sharp right turn. You will need to keep an eye on your mirrors and think ahead! The distribution center's docks have the same height as the van trailer, making it easy to enter and exit with cars and forklifts. Most of the docks and trailer parking spaces are occupied, and the available spaces present different levels of difficulty in backing up. There's an underground mountain base with docks and stone pillars that you need to navigate around. This is inspired by real-life underground storage facilities, such as those in Carthage, Missouri. There might be secrets hidden deep within the mountain if you're important enough to have high-level access. This map has been a learning experience for me, and I consider myself a fairly novice mapper. Think of this map as long roads surrounded by trees, with detailed locations where you can practice your maneuvers. Which cargo will you take from the distribution center to the underground base? Potato chips or plutonium? The choice is yours. Credits: bleriotbeluga |
