Typhoon "Judy" - a strong tropical cyclone that hit the territory of Japan, South Korea and the Far East of the USSR in July 1989, and caused the death of 46 people and significant material damage.

In the USSR, a typhoon struck the Primorsky Territory. Torrential rains caused flooding, the death of at least 15 people, interrupted the railway communication on the Trans-Siberian Railway. Wind speed reached 166 km / h. 120 thousand hectares of land were flooded, including 109 settlements, about two thousand houses were damaged, 2,678 bridges and 1,340 km of roads were blurred, 70 km of power lines, 600 km of telephone networks were damaged, 75 thousand heads of cattle sank.
It refers to the most powerful typhoons in the history of Primorsky Krai by the amount of precipitation.
