Sooner Trailers was founded in 1956 by Francis Cobb. The company didn't actually make trailers at the time, but the idea for high-quality animal haulers came about when someone needed a cattle rack and Cobb agreed to build one for them. From that humble beginning, Sooner has grown under the Bernhardt family of Duncan, Oklahoma, to produce premium custom aluminum trailers to meet the needs of the most discerning customer.

Over the years, Sooner has continued to expand its product range, producing many horse and livestock trailers every year. Today, Sooner trailers are manufactured in El Reno, Oklahoma and distributed in the United States through approximately 120 dealers located in more than 35 states, as well as worldwide through dealers located in Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
