At the end of 1984, Rostselmash introduced the Don series of combine harvesters, among which the Don-1500 combine was the most common. It was sold in Western Europe and North America, mainly under the brand name "Belarus". The threshing drum was quite impressive: 80 cm in diameter and 148.5 cm wide. He had five batters and a large grid surface area. The transmission was hydrostatic, and the engine was turbocharged with a volume of 9.5 liters and a power of 235 hp. The engine was located between the cabin and a grain hopper with a volume of 60 hectoliters. Air conditioning was included as standard, at least in France and the USA. The combine was also equipped with an electronic control system covering 18 points. The smaller combine harvester "Don-1200" had a threshing drum with a diameter of 118 cm, an engine with a capacity of 160 hp and a grain hopper with a volume of 45 hectoliters. The updated Don-1500 B was equipped with a naturally aspirated V8 engine with a volume of 14.9 liters. Thanks to the new engine and other technical improvements, such as an increased rotation speed of the threshing drum, the productivity of the threshing machine increased by 20%. Don-1500 B, as a rule, had a green color. The latest development was the Don-1500 M with a grain silo of 90 hectoliters, a 250 horsepower engine and advanced cabin equipment such as improved noise insulation and a refrigerator. The Don family also included a rare rotary threshing machine Don-2600. - Power: 162 kW / 220 hp; Credits: Shnurok |
