A budget subcompact car designed by Renault specifically for emerging markets. The main production is deployed in Romania at the factory of the industrial group Dacia, since 1999 owned by Renault. In Russia, the first generation of the car was produced from 2005 to December 2015 at the Avtoframos plant in Moscow, and since 2014 the second generation has been produced at the AvtoVAZ plant in Tolyatti.
