Mercedes-Benz W126 - a series of flagship cars of the German brand Mercedes-Benz. Introduced in 1979 as a replacement for the earlier W116, the W126 became the second generation of Mercedes-Benz flagship cars, officially called the S-Class, that is, Sonderklasse (with it the “Special Class”). Initially, the W126 was offered as a sedan with in-line 6-cylinder engines, a V8 and turbodiesel engines. In September 1981, a two-door coupe version was introduced.
