MOD CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8 STINGRAY FOR CAR MECHANIC SIMULATOR 2018

The new Chevrolet Corvette C8 was shown at the 2019 US Auto Show, after sales and production started. There is a lot of novelty here, now even the layout of the engine is central instead of the front. Thus, the manufacturer refuses to compete with Muscle cars and enters the Italian market.

Corvette is a symbolic car for the brand, which has existed since 1953. Officially, this is the first mid-engined supercar, but there have already been attempts to use a similar layout, although they did not reach the assembly line.

Due to the new location of the engine, the exterior of the coupe has taken on a completely different shape and, most interestingly, it is much narrower than the Corvette C7. At the front, a lot is surprising, namely the new narrow LED headlights, aerodynamic detailing of the hood and bumper of the Corvette 2020. The latter is truly a work of art with massive side air intakes, guides, lower lip and other little things.

The side part gives out the new layout perfectly, although the engine is not visible. There are even more aggressive lines here, which are the lower and center lines leading the air to the rear radiator. The profile architecture is reminiscent of the McLaren GT. There is a supercar in the front on 19-inch wheels, 20-inch wheels go back. The base is equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport ALS, and the Z51 package contains Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.

The rear lights are issued by the manufacturer and the range. The shape of the stern is arched at the top, where the spoiler appears at the top when ordering the Z51 package. The bumper looks great, supporting the front in the form of a massive air outlet. Below is a huge plastic trim that integrates 4 square tailpipes.

A Corvette Convertible with a retractable roof is also offered. It is folded by 6 electric motors in 16 seconds, which can be done on the go up to 48 km / h.

On the side, you can see the black covers of the massive radiator, but this is not carbon. The entire body is predominantly aluminum, and the outer panels are fiberglass. The carbon fiber actually has a rear crossbeam behind the bumper of the Chevrolet Corvette C8.

The hood, trunk lid and dashboard are made of ultra-light metal, which, according to the manufacturer, does not sink in water.

The final curb weight is 1530 kg.

The interior had a lot of new things, there are few architectural solutions of the previous generation. Naturally, the reputation is supported by quality upholstery materials - aluminum, thick American leather and Alcantara.

The new sports seats, combined with the headrest by the side pillars, look interesting. Even the red seat belts underline the sporty character.

The belts have color support - a centering strip at the top of the new 2-spoke steering wheel, which is truncated on both sides. The spokes are unusually tilted downward and feature cruise control, media controls, a Z-mode button, and gearshift paddles. For the sake of objectivity, we note that red accents appear with the Z51 package.

Discussing innovations in the form of a dashboard is not worth it, this is a completely new image, which the photographs will tell about.

The main attribute of the center console is the 8-inch touchscreen display, turned towards the driver. The climate and other functions of the Chevrolet Corvette C8 are controlled by touch buttons on the side partition. Reminds Porsche, but it does not close the gearshift selector from the passenger, unlike the American.

Of the interesting things in multimedia there is a memory for pneuma, that is, to travel in a certain area, you need to raise the car, after which it will offer to remember a point on the map and next time it will change the clearance automatically. A maximum of 1000 points are available.

The role of the dashboard is now performed by a 12-inch display that simulates all the familiar gauges and even more. It also displays the riding modes, which are controlled by the puck under the logo brush panel. To the left of the washer, buttons for switching gearbox modes are inserted.

Music lovers will appreciate the original Bose audio system with 10 speakers, and optionally add 4 more speakers, including a speaker between the seats.

The central location of the engine made it possible to make two small trunks, the total volume of which is 356 liters. A little of course, but quite enough for travel.

The Americans did not follow the path of modern turbocharged trends, they remained true to their atmospheric simple engines. Perhaps scared by the negativity of the fans.

The Chevrolet Corvette has an old V8 engine with two valves per cylinder, direct injection and dry sump. The latter was made to exclude oil starvation during lateral overloads. Due to improvements, the engine index was changed to LT2, and the power increased to 495 horsepower and 637 H * m of torque.

To save money, the engine can turn off half of the cylinders.

Fans were surprised by the central location of the motor. The engineers did this for a reason, there are many advantages in terms of handling, with which the Americans have always had problems. Plus, in the 60s, they tried to do an average

nny Corvette, but the idea did not reach the conveyor.

The manufacturer also abandoned the 7-speed mechanics in favor of the new 8-range M1L robot with a wet double clutch. The Corvette is traditionally rear-wheel drive with the optional eLSD active differential.

The base is adequately equipped with:

- electric seat adjustment;
- electronic instrument panel;
- audio system with 10 speakers and other functions.

The 2LT package starts at $ 67,295, replenishing:

- rear view camera;
- projection;
- control of blind spots;
- track mode.
