Goblin Valley Rally v1.07 (0.39.x)
0 43 12

Goblin Valley Rally is a rally map with a variety of tasks for single-player and multiplayer games.

FEATURES:
Goblin Ring Road:
An asphalt highway winding through the countryside and climbing the slopes of the cliffs above the plateau, with an inner ring road connecting the area below the plateau. Great for time racing in Miramar.
The outer loop is 5 miles. The inner loop is 4.5 miles.

Rally stage roads:
13.5 miles of dirt and gravel roads passing through lush grassy hills, dense forests and shrubs, sandy beaches, narrow technical canyons, rock climbs, descents and jumps along rivers, dangerous cliffs, dry desert and rocky plateau, as well as several jumps (one with an alternative, safer route).

Goblin Hill Climbs:
Multiple hill climb challenges designed for different vehicles, including one with double ascent, U-turn, and back descent.

AN EXTREME STUNT PLAYGROUND:
A carefully designed track with six consecutive stunts. Each requires precise timing and accuracy. Designed for the "standard" Cherrier Gravel Rally car, but will other cars be able to perform these stunts?
Two jumps over the poles for tricks... Try to land on the landing pads of two pillars. There is also a "Build your own highway" zone where you can create a short route using car props.

9 RALLYCROSS TRACKS:
A wide variety of rally tracks, wide enough for multiplayer racing, some with "Joker Circle" lanes. All tracks are designed to move in both directions.

(A wild circle is usually an additional lane extending from the main track, which the riders must pass once and can choose which lap they want to pass it on)

THE STRAIGHT EIGHT:
A figure-eight shaped dirt track with long straight sections and an additional "Joker Circle" lane.
It's a good track for faster cars.

GOBLIN MESA:
Race along the dry steep slopes of the Mesa and back to the top.
This track is best suited for medium-speed vehicles capable of climbing hills.
It also has an inner stripe for jokers.

GOBLIN SCREAM:
This is probably the second longest rally track.
It has an unusual starting grid where you line up in front of the start/finish line, not behind it. It runs along the stream and back, and has a spiral lane for jokers, which also offers a choice of a narrow inner or wider outer concrete obstacle.
The track is best suited for fast rally cars, as there is a springboard finish line on the track.

GOBLIN MUDBOG:
As the name suggests. A harsh muddy track, best suited for four-wheel drive vehicles such as Hopper, Roamer, Rock Racer or Side by Sides. (But the wrecks are fun too)

OSTROVOE LAKE:
A short and slow rallycross track, best suited for cars with low speeds (like the gravel Piccolina Rally track — hence the pond's name). There is also a "Joker Lane". It's a fun and hilly track.

DANCING MAN:
The longest of the rallycross tracks. It got its name due to the way it looks from the air. This is a completely gravel track, the widest and smoothest of the tracks for high-speed multiplayer racing. There is also an intersection with four and six directions on the highway, intersecting 5 times per lap. "Joker Lane" is also located on this track, which descends to the creek for a wet and dirty "Joker Circle".

ENDUROCROSS:
This track is built in the style of enduro cross motorcycle racing with a severe challenge of logs, stones, mud, sand, culverts, pits and extreme jumps. Choose a sturdy car with good suspension for this race. For the first few laps, you might get lucky if you can complete a lap at all. This is the only track with an optional "take-off start", which can accommodate 18 cars side by side.

DRIFTWOOD BAY:
The very winding paved track is great for multiplayer go-kart racing or just for endless drift or Formula 1 racing.

THE SAND PIT:
Get out your favorite buggy. As the name suggests, this is a sandy track among the rocky walls of Utah. Is there a shortcut? Should I use it?

OTHER FEATURES:
Find 15 hidden emoticons (Easter egg hunt). All of them are located if you get to them.
There may be several areas suitable for overcoming rocky obstacles.

In version 1.07:
- Frame rate improvements (FPS):
Removed the code that caused unnecessary operations for rendering the landscape grid.
About 10,000 more vegetation and rock objects were removed (mostly models with a high number of polygons or those that were almost invisible).
About 25,000 new unique mushroom objects have been added (5 types created by me from scratch specifically for this map). The figure seems impressive, but they have extremely low detail (few polygons), no collision, and the LOD (detail levels) system hides them at a distance of 30-50 meters, so there is practically no effect on FPS.
- Lighting: I spent a lot of time fixing problems with the "butterfly effect" in the system of changing the time of day (time was going backwards due to two erroneous values in the settings of the Earth position).
If there are still problems with time, I don't even know what to say. My time of day cycles and default time (late morning) are displayed correctly.
- Straight 8 track: Made the "Joker lanes" more gentle.
- Goblin Creek Track: Added a 5 degree slope at the final turn. The track has remained technically challenging, but now it is possible to turn at a higher speed on this section. I also reduced the depth of mud and water in the central area near the stream so that it would be possible to drive faster there. Increased the slope on a sharp turn, which is passed when the "joker" is rejected. Added more "Wayback Routes".
- Mesa Circuit: Smoothed out the bumps near the start area. I filled in a deep hole right after the "joker", which players often fell into. I added a narrow strip of grass along the edges to better mark the boundaries of the highway and cliffs. Added more "return paths".
- Dancing Man Circuit: Added more "return paths".
What are "Wayback Routes"? That's what I call the small detours that you can use to get back to the start after the race, without going to the main track and without risking running into riders who haven't finished the race yet.
