For single player only!
Have you ever wished that some cars were following you on the map? Using "Follow me" you can do this (but not in reverse).
Instructions:
- Use the "Start" action/Select Other" (default: RIGHT CTRL +F) to select the vehicle to follow and make sure it is clearly marked on the screen.
- To select another vehicle to follow, if there are more nearby, click the "Start" action./Select other" again before the 3-second timeout expires.
- To stop following, click "Stop AI Worker" (default: H).
- To temporarily pause the following, use the "Pause" action./Resume" (default: RIGHT CTRL + H).
- While in the vehicle, you can change the distance and lateral offset to the lead using the actions "Change distance" (default: RIGHT CTRL + W/S) and "Change lateral offset" (default: RIGHT CTRL + A/D).
- If the vehicle was started with a bale loader, a feed dispenser, a stone harvester or a combine harvester turned on and active, it is possible to specify what should happen when it is full using the action "When filled: ..." (default: RIGHT CTRL + Y).
- While in a vehicle with slaves, use the "Slave, select another" action (default: RIGHT SHIFT + RIGHT CTRL + F) to indicate which slave is selected for further instructions.
- Use the actions "Follower, Distance" (default: RIGHT SHIFT + RIGHT CTRL + W/S) and "Follower, Lateral Displacement" (default: RIGHT SHIFT + RIGHT CTRL + A/D) to change the distance and lateral displacement of the selected follower.
- Use the actions "Follower, Pause/Resume" (default: RIGHT SHIFT + RIGHT CTRL + H) or "Follower When Filled In" (default: RIGHT SHIFT + RIGHT CTRL + Y) to change how the selected follower should react.
- You can "put a marker on the trail", which instructs followers to ignore their lateral displacement or use the opposite lateral displacement. To do this, use the "Marker to switch the lateral offset" action (default: RIGHT SHIFT + RIGHT CTRL + X).
Notes:
- When the slave is ordered to drive "ahead" of the vehicle, i.e. the distance is negative, the collision detection for this slave is disabled.
- When using lateral shifts, remember that wingmen cannot "make 90-degree turns" just like that. Therefore, experiment and try to learn how to make turns depending on what lateral displacement is set for the slave.
- Different vehicles have different steering wheel turning radius, so don't forget to consider the least capable wingman when the leading vehicle turns left or right.
- Different vehicles and their equipment have different driving speeds, so consider giving the slowest follower time to catch up with the leading vehicle.
In version 1.1.0.0:
- Fixes regarding vehicles that are mentioned but should not be eligible for "Follow Me". There may still be problems with this due to the uncertainty of how to reproduce the problem.
- Fix for the disappearing F1 menu caused by a conflict with other mods that change the sequence of how "InputHelpDisplay:draw()" calls the help-/info-hud-extensions methods. |
