The car debuted in April 2021 as the bZ4X concept car. This is the first car built on the e-TNGA platform developed jointly by Toyota and Subaru, and the first model of the brand to be included in the Toyota bZ ("beyond Zero") series of zero-emission vehicles.
In version 2.0:
- The Solterra has a split body due to the plastic lining.
- Additional LEXUS RZ configurations for right-hand drive vehicles. Left-hand drive cars are now available in China.
- Additional configurations for Subaru Solterra (USA).
- Added Onyx trim on Solterra and Squicircle steering wheels.
- There were no steering wheel switches for left-hand drive vehicles on LEXUS RZ (when using the configuration for left-hand drive vehicles).
-Added a sticker with tire pressure readings for left-hand drive and right-hand drive vehicles.
